Dipping sauce Recipes for Chinese egg rolls

Egg rolls taste yummy all by themselves, especially when they are fresh, hot and crunchy.  

Here are a few condiments that go well with egg rolls; soy sauce, spicy sriracha or hot mustard.  If you want dipping sauce, there are some suggestions below.

Chinese Hot Mustard Recipe

1/4 cup of boiling water
1/4 cup of mustard powder
1/2 teaspoon of salad oil

Mix well and let it sit until it thicken and has a paste texture.  Hot mustard is more of a condiment than a dipping sauce.  Use sparingly; itís very spicy like wasabi.

Vinegar and Darlic Dipping Sauce Recipe

1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar
2 finely minced garlic cloves
A dash white pepper

Itís quick and easy; mix in a bowl and you are done.

Honey Dijon Mustard Dipping Sauce Recipe

1/2 a cup of honey
1/2 a cup of Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar

Mix ingredients in a saucepan on medium heat, stir rapidly and you are done.  Makes about one cup of sauce 

Classic Sweet and Sour Dipping Sauce Recipe

1/3 cup white or rice vinegar
4 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 teaspoon soy sauce
2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 4 teaspoons water (thickener)

Put the rice vinegar, the brown sugar, ketchup, and soy sauce in a pot over medium heat and stir well.  In a separate bowl add 4 teaspoons of water with 2 teaspoons, mix this well.  Keep stirring the sauce while adding the cornstarch, you do not want the cornstarch to get clumpy.  Let cool.
